A woman has died after being hit by a double-decker bus in Islington, with the driver arrested at the scene.
Emergency services were called, but the woman, believed to be in her 60s, died at the scene in the early afternoon of October 3.
The bus driver, a man in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of careless driving, but has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Her next of kin had been informed and road closures were instilled that afternoon at White Lion Street, Angel.
Pedestrians have been informed about the event and gave their opinions on bus safety.

A lecturer at London Metropolitan University, Roberta, said: “At the moment, they don’t have much patience with pedestrians, which is a shame.”
Local students at the University also expressed their concerns on bus safety. Student Melanie Rendon said: “The young bus drivers don’t care, they drive like they don’t care.”
Student Alina Celine Bijker added: “They are sometimes in a hurry, I don’t know if they’re in a hurry, I think it depends on the driver.”

This tragic event has renewed concerns regarding dangerous driving from bus drivers.
The Metropolitan Police are encouraging any witnesses or potential users with dashcam footage to come forward as any information will help with the investigation.
