Another year, another triumphant ceremony!
The 2025 Game Awards is in under two weeks! It commences on Friday, 12th December at 12:30 AM. To kick off the the festive spirit, notable representatives belonging to different gaming developing studios, voice actors, performers and influencers gather together for the yearly award ceremony. Vinitha Sunil, a London Met student said, “People come together internationally.”
The Nominees
There are a total of 29 categories for the nominees. Like a typical awards show, there are subjects that are in the running for the win. A few categories are: Best Mobile Game, Most Anticipated Game, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music and the most exciting among the fans: Game of the Year. The most nominated video game of this year’s Game Awards appears to be Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, “making it the most nominated game in the awards’ history, followed by PlayStation titles Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Ghost of Yotei with eight nominations each, and Hades 2 with six”, according to Andy Robinson of Video Games Chronicle.
Black Friday Discounts
There’s nothing more gratifying than discounted video games. In favour of fans and customers, it’s even more of a perk for these discounts to cover ‘Triple A’ (high-budget) games released this year, offering fans a cheaper price than the original – which, you can imagine, is a hefty amount.
In celebration of the Game Awards approaching soon, there isn’t a time better than any. PlayStation, Xbox and Steam discounted several video game nominees including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, F1 25, Sonic Racing Crossworlds and Split Fiction.

Fortnite Voting
Fortnite activated their voting system again through the in-game Fortnite Island, collaborating with The Game Awards to acknowledge the Best Fortnite Island of 2025.
“The Game Awards Vote in Fortnite is a hub world that lets players portal to 10 creator made Islands that showcase the potential, creativity and innovation possible in Fortnite. After exploring the nominated islands, players can vote in-game for their favorite, as part of a special fan poll,” The Game Awards website said. This voting period for this is currently active until 8th December at 6PM.
How to tune in
As it has always been for the past few years, the ceremony will be available to watch for free live on the official Youtube channel, on the IGN channel, and even on Twitch.
